Airoflex Equipment’s above grade hoppers are designed to receive and reclaim large volumes of bulk materials such as wood chips, bark and other similar materials. Our design eliminates the need for a high maintenance pit and extensive civil work.
Airoflex’ bolted hopper design minimizes the need for field welding which results in lower installation costs. With safe operation and continued maintenance practices, our robust hoppers are engineered to have many years of trouble free operation and lower lifetime operational costs.
The standard Airoflex above grade hopper is designed to integrate with our extended arm truck or trailer dumper. To best suit our customer’s needs, Airoflex can configure a hopper using our modular accessories to suit any number of receiving applications, thus our standard hopper can be upgraded to handle the complex nature of biomass fuel supply.
These can be upgraded to handle biomass with various modular accessories. They feature above grade application, bolted connections for minimal field welding, multiple strand drag chain, full live bottom design, and vertical walls.
The capacity for single wide is 3,500-6,000 cu/ft. and the typical material output is 150 -250 TPH.
Options include hydraulic operated metering gates, platforms and stairs, AR material floor, single and double spike back rolls, VFD capable motor and controls, TIVAR liner, dust suppression and containment, and a customer specified coating system. A reversible head shaft can be reversed as drag chain sprockets wear.
Upgraded / Biomass Hopper Body
Above grade hoppers are offered in 4500 and 6000 cu ft capacities with 12’6” inside width, incline of 15 degrees, and wall height of 15’3”. They feature a full live bottom with 6 strands of WDH480 chain, floating head and tail shaft TIVAR seals, and formed steel panel return guards. Other options include upgrade options for walls to 1/4” AR400 steel, upgrade options for floor and return floor to 3/8” mild or 1/4” AR400 steel, and return chain guards.
Upgraded / Biomass Hopper Head and Tail
The hopper head features a rear mounted drive with larger access platform, heavy head shaft with 9” diameter reversible shafts/bearings, US-5042 5” pitch drive chain and sprockets, dual spike rolls, biomass duty tail shaft with 5 7/16” diameter bearings and shafts, tail speed sensor for detecting drag chain stall, bearing maintenance, etc., a removable head hood with two inspection doors, access platform stairs, chain strippers, and hopper outlet chute.
